Interpreting Insights: Diversity

Relode Insights provides detailed information on the markets diversity for race, age and gender.  

Summary

At the top of every Insights report there is a summary. The diversity is compared based on two metrics: 

  1. Racial diversity 
    • The regional racial diversity % is compared to the national diversity %
  2. Age diversity 
    • The population age 55+ is compared to the National population age 55+

After considering these two factors the following options are displayed in the summary: 

  • Low diversity 
    • This means that the regional diversity is less than 80% of the national racial diversity 
  • Consistent diversity
    • This means the regional racial diversity percentage is between 80% and 120% of the national racial diversity 
  • High diversity
    • This means the regional racial diversity percentage is greater than 120% of the national racial diversity 
  • Diversity data is currently unavailable 
    • This means there is currently not enough data in this market to provide diversity data  

Within the description of the summary, it will provide details on the retirement risk of the population. The potential options are: 

  • Retirement Risk Low
    • This means that the regional age of 55+ is less than 80% of the national age of 55+ 
  • Retirement Risk is High
    • This means that the regional age of 55+ is between 80% and 120% of the national age of 55+ 
  • Diversity data is currently unavailable
    • This means there is currently not enough data in this market to provide diversity data  

Racial Diversity

This provides information of what percentage of the workforce in this market is non-white, and breaks out for both regionally and nationally the percentage of the workforce represented by each of the following races: 

  • White
  • Hispanic or Latino
  • Black or African American
  • Asian
  • Two or More Races
  • American Indian or Alaska Native
  • Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander 

This information can be used to help set diversity goals by race. In this example regionally 26.86% of the workforce in this market is non-white. If an organization had a diversity goal to have this team be 50% non-white, that would be a challenging goal to achieve in this market based on the available talent. 

Gender Diversity

This gives an overview of the gender diversity of the market both regionally and nationally between male and female. 

Retirement Risk

This gives an overview of what percentage of the available talent is over the age of 55.
